What About the Children?

Prompted by “Coming Friday: Colorado becomes a state of hope for parents”: http://www.thecannabist.co/2014/12/03/coming-friday-colorado-becomes-state-hope-parents-seeking-marijuana-miracle/24609/

“Colorado has become a promised land for desperate parents trying to save their children.

In the past year-and-a-half, hundreds of families from across the country have uprooted their lives and moved here for a special kind of medical marijuana. They arrive with children suffering from incurable forms of epilepsy, life-threatening disorders with seizures that not only strike every day but also restrain their kids at the developmental level of toddlers.

The medical marijuana treatment they seek — low in THC and rich in a compound called CBD — is unregulated, and there is little research to guide parents on how often it works. But the happy anecdotes of families who have already tried it encourage even more families to move, creating a growing community of parents who are praying that a federally illegal drug will succeed where traditional pharmaceuticals have failed.”

Certainly worthy of note is those children are factually not the only ones finding relief from a plant still too-often dismissed in terms of medicinal quality (so too-often leaving good people of any age similarly in the dark regarding properly obtaining and using this proven plant).

Where traditional pharmaceuticals also fail to provide a cure, for a close-to-my-heart example, early studies are popping up regarding the neuro-benefits of cannabis, including neuroprotection and even neuroregeneration. We the human species know a lot more about cannabis (including scientifically speaking) than the relatively new drugs that may mitigate some harsh symptoms of dementia (though not without risk of serious side effects). Our species’ use of cannabis spans thousands of years, and responsible cannabis introduction to anyone can minimize the already low risk, so medical professionals logically irrefutably have an obligation to understand the factual positivity resulting from cannabis experiences and inform their patients of cannabis’ leading position where appropriate.

On a final note for today’s post, the public has the duty to powerfully press upon any government to lawfully facilitate cannabis access and use correspondingly, so that medicinal access becomes optimally efficient and effective for everyone (obviously including the children).

I'm an honest freak (or reasonably responsibly balanced "misfit", if you prefer) of an entertainer working and resting as my careful contribution to help improve society. Too many people abuse reasoning (e.g. 'partial truth = whole truth' scam), while I exercise reason to explore and express whole truth without any conflict-of-interest.
